Koh Bulon ferry port lies on Ko Bulon Lae in the Thai Andaman Sea. From here you can reach 12 destinations, among them Ao Nang Beach, Koh Kradan and Koh Lanta. Together the connections add up to as many as 23 departures a day. Crossings take between 45 minutes and 4.75 hours. The port is served by Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club.
Getting there and the terminal
Ko Bulon Lae has no pier. The speedboats stop off the island, longtail boats run out, take you and your luggage aboard and set you down on the beach. The regular landing point is the beach on the north-east coast in front of the Bulone Resort. You pay the boatman for this short transfer in cash; it is not included in the ferry ticket.
In rough seas the boat cannot approach this side of the island. It then goes into Panka bay on the south side, from where a walk of around ten minutes over the hill leads to the accommodation on the north-east coast. In that case you can leave your luggage at the bay and the resort staff will collect it. There are no roads and no cars on the island; you get around on foot.
Check-in
On the mainland you start at Pakbara pier. Check-in for the midday service is at 12 noon there, and the boat leaves at 12.30.
