- Bang Bao Pier, einer von zwei Boonsiri-Anlegern auf Koh Chang
The ferry port of Koh Chang is on Ko Chang in Trat province in eastern Thailand. From here you can reach 5 destinations: the neighbouring islands of Koh Mak in an hour and Koh Kood in an hour and a half, plus Pattaya and, in around six hours each, Bangkok Khao San and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. Together the services add up to as many as 22 departures a day. The port is served by Boonsiri High Speed Ferries and Seudamgo.
Getting there and the terminal
Koh Chang has more than one berth, and the operators use them differently. Boonsiri High Speed Ferries calls at two of them: Ao Sapparot and Bang Bao. This page is about Bang Bao. Check which pier is printed on your ticket before you order a taxi - the two are a drive across the island apart, and the departure times for the mainland services are tightly spaced.
Check-in
Boonsiri requires you to be at the designated check-in point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. On the long routes more than the boat hangs on that deadline: the services to Pattaya, Khao San and the airport continue as a through ticket, with the boat only the first leg.
