Koh Kood ferry port lies on Ko Kut in Thailand, close to the border with Cambodia. From here you can reach 11 destinations, among them Bangkok Khao San, Laem Sok and Trat airport. Together the connections add up to as many as 51 departures a day. Journeys take between 30 minutes and 24.5 hours. The port is served by Boonsiri High Speed Ferries, Lomprayah High Speed Ferries and Seudamgo.
Getting there and the terminal
Koh Kood has several berths, and they lie far apart. The main one is Ao Salat in the north-east of the island: Boonsiri, Seudamgo, the Koh Kut Express and the Koh Kood Princess speedboat all tie up there. The Koh Kut Express also uses the small pier at Klong Mad, and Chonratee docks at the jetty of the Seafar Resort in Ao Tapao. Check which name is on your ticket before you book.
From the mainland the boats come from the Laem Sok port area, around 30 kilometres from the town of Trat. With most operators the transfer from the pier to your accommodation is part of the ticket: shared taxis shuttle between Ao Salat and the beaches, taking at least 20 minutes to Klong Chao, 30 minutes to Bang Bao and 45 minutes or more to Ao Phrao. For the return trip the operators schedule the pick-up about an hour before departure, though not to the minute. Better to be ready early.
