Koh Kradan

Resort

Koh Kradan lies around ten kilometres off the west coast of the Thai province of Trang, in Kantang district; most of the island belongs to Hat Chao Mai National Park. It is served exclusively by speedboats, on three routes: Koh Mook takes 15 minutes, Koh Ngai half an hour and Koh Phi Phi around 2.25 hours. All three run daily and add up to as many as 24 departures a day. The port is served by Bundhaya Speed Boat and Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club. Which departures actually run on your day of travel is shown in the timetable further down this page.

Getting there and the terminal

There is no ferry terminal here in the usual sense. Koh Kradan has neither cars nor motorbikes, no roads cross the island, and you get around entirely on foot. Boats cross from several piers on the mainland. The national park names Pak Meng as the most important starting point: around 40 kilometres from Trang, reached over provincial road 4162, and from there about 30 minutes on the water. There are also Hat Yao pier on the road from Trang to Kantang, around 50 kilometres from Trang, and Khuan Tung Ku; from these two the crossing takes 45 to 60 minutes. From the town of Trang the journey is usually sold as a combined minibus-and-boat ticket.

Check-in

Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club requires you to show your voucher to the staff at the departure point 30 minutes before departure; check-in closes 20 minutes before departure. The operator explicitly accepts no responsibility for passengers who arrive late, so a replacement seat is not guaranteed.
