Koh Samui ferry port lies on Ko Samui in Thailand. From here you can reach 11 destinations, among them Ko Phangan, Koh Tao and Chumphon. Together the connections add up to as many as 42 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 24.5 hours. The port is served by Lomlahkkhirin and Lomprayah High Speed Ferries.
Getting there and the terminal
Lomprayah calls the berth Pralarn Pier; it lies in the north of the island in the Maenam subdistrict. This is the point where things go wrong on land: on Ko Samui, Lomprayah serves three separate landing points — besides Pralarn Pier also Nathon in the west and Bangrak in the north-east. Which one applies to you is on your ticket. The office at Pralarn Pier is listed at 26/61 Moo 4, Maenam, Samui district, Surat Thani province, and is staffed daily from 7am to 9pm.
Check-in
Lomprayah's conditions of carriage state that passengers have to report to the Lomprayah office at least 60 minutes before departure and confirm their journey. That is considerably earlier than the short crossing to Ko Phangan would suggest, and it applies even if you booked online. No figure of its own is published for Lomlahkkhirin; if you travel with that operator, it makes sense to allow the same lead time.
