The ferry port of Koh Tarutao is on Koh Tarutao, the main island of the marine national park of the same name in the Thai Andaman Sea. From here you can reach Koh Lipe and Pakbara. Together the routes run up to 2 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and an hour. The port is served by Satun Pakbara Speed Boat Club.

Getting there and the terminal

Boats call at Ao Pante Malacca bay on the north-west coast. The administration of Tarutao National Park sits there too, with a visitor centre, a small shop and the park's accommodation. The main island is open daily from 8.30 to 16.30. There is an entrance fee for the national park, higher for foreigners than for Thais; bungalows and the campsite are booked in advance with the park administration.

Plan your trip for the dry season. Most other destinations in the marine national park stay closed from 1 June to 30 September, and Ko Adang until 31 December. In the low season there is often only one boat a day from Pakbara; the speedboat high season runs from early November to mid-May.
