Las Palmas is the ferry port of Gran Canaria and the busiest in the archipelago. From here you can reach 7 destinations: Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Santa Cruz de La Palma, Morro Jable and Puerto del Rosario on Fuerteventura, Arrecife on Lanzarote, as well as, on the long-haul routes, Cádiz and Huelva on the Spanish mainland. Together the connections add up to as many as 66 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.75 and 40.5 hours, depending on whether you take the fast inter-island line to Tenerife or one of the two mainland routes. The port is served by Balearia, Fred Olsen Express and Naviera Armas.
The pace is set by the fast ferries on the inter-island services: to Santa Cruz de Tenerife there are up to 30 departures a day, to Morro Jable on Fuerteventura up to 20, both taking 1.75 hours. Arrecife and Puerto del Rosario are around six hours' sailing time with several departures a week, while the mainland routes to Cádiz and Huelva mean anywhere from one to almost two days at sea and run correspondingly rarely.
Which berth applies to your departure is stated on the shipping company's ticket. Check the details before you set off: the port is large, and the three operators don't process passengers at the same point.
