The ferry port of Mihara lies on the Seto Inland Sea in the Japanese prefecture of Hiroshima. From here you can reach Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prince Hotel and Kure. Together the services add up to as many as 3 departures a day. Crossings take between 3.25 and 3.75 hours. The port is served by Setonaikai Kisen.

Getting there and the terminal

The berth lies at the inner harbour of Mihara, address Jocho 3-1-1, and is about eight minutes on foot from Mihara station. So if you arrive by train you need neither bus nor taxi. For comparison: in Kure it is around seven minutes on foot from the station to the berth, while in Hiroshima it is about 40 minutes by tram from the main station.

The Setonaikai Kisen services to Hiroshima and Kure are not a dense shuttle but the SEA SPICA sightseeing route, which runs the length of the Seto Inland Sea and calls at islands such as Okunoshima and Setoda on the way. That is why the trip between Mihara and Hiroshima takes a good three and a half hours, even though the route is shorter overland. The desk in the Mihara terminal opens in the afternoon at 13:50, shortly before the ship sails west. Fast boats to the nearby islands of the inland sea also leave from the same basin.
