The ferry port of Morro Jable is at the southern end of Fuerteventura in Spain. From here you can reach Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Lobos. Together the services add up to as many as 31 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.75 and 4.75 hours. The port is served by Balearia, Ferry Isla De Lobos, Fred Olsen Express and Naviera Armas.
Getting there and the terminal
Puertos Canarios, the port authority of the Canaries, places Morro Jable at the southern end of the island in the municipality of Pájara. The port is a manageable size: around 400 metres of quay, plus a filling station, a restaurant, waste disposal and round-the-clock security. What matters most for travellers are the 150 parking spaces on the site. If you are only crossing to Gran Canaria as a foot passenger, you can leave the hire car at the port instead of taking it with you. As operators on the scheduled route to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the authority lists Naviera Armas and Fred Olsen. The harbour entrance is 100 metres wide and faces west-north-west, and the approach from seaward is clear of obstacles.
Check-in
On the inter-island routes Fred Olsen Express requires 20 minutes' lead time without a vehicle and 40 minutes with one. All destinations from Morro Jable are inter-island services, so the short lead time applies throughout.
