Naha ferry port is on Okinawa in Japan. From here you can reach 8 destinations, among them Kume-jima, Kagoshima and Kametoku. Together the services add up to as many as 18 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.75 and 25 hours. The port is served by Kume Line and Marue Ferry.
Getting there and the terminal
Naha has two ferry ports, and they are several kilometres apart. The island ferries use Tomari port with its Tomarin terminal building, Maejima 3-25-1: ships leave from here for eight islands, among them Kume-jima and Tonaki. The nearest stop on the Yui Rail monorail is Miebashi, about 14 minutes from Naha airport, followed by a walk of around ten minutes. By bus you take routes 26 and 99 of Ryukyu Bus or the Yanbaru airport express from the airport and reach the Tomarikohashi stop in about 30 minutes. The multi-storey car park has 600 spaces and is open around the clock.
The long crossings to Kagoshima and the Amami Islands, by contrast, run from the Naha Port Terminal Building at Tondocho 2-1, about 15 minutes by car from the airport.
Check-in
On the Kagoshima line, Marix Line normally closes check-in 30 minutes before departure. Checked baggage, outsized baggage and animal carriers have to be registered at least one hour in advance at every port except Kagoshima, and a vehicle at least four hours in advance, otherwise the booking lapses.
