Pattaya ferry port lies on the east coast of Thailand. From here you can reach Koh Kood, Koh Chang and Koh Mak. Together the services run up to 12 departures a day. The journeys take between 5.5 and 6.5 hours. They are operated by Boonsiri High Speed Ferries and Seudamgo.
Getting there and the terminal
For the islands of Trat province, Pattaya is not a ferry berth but a pick-up point. With Boonsiri High Speed Ferries you choose between the operator's office in Pattaya, Terminal 21 and pick-up at your hotel. From there a bus or van takes you overland, and the actual crossing by catamaran only begins at Laem Sok Pier in Trat province. That explains the long journey time: the larger part of it is road, not sea. One example service run by the operator leaves Pattaya at 8:30 am and reaches Koh Chang at about 3 pm.
Check-in
Boonsiri requires you to be at the stated check-in point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure; the operator's frequently asked questions say 45 minutes before departure at the office. Go by the earlier figure. If you miss the departure you count as a no-show: the ticket lapses, and there is no refund or rebooking after that.
