Phuket Airport ferry port lies in Thailand. From here you can reach 7 destinations, among them Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and Ao Nang. Together the connections add up to as many as 60 departures a day. Crossings take between 2.5 and 8.5 hours. The port is served by Andaman Wave Master and Tigerline Ferry. Koh Phi Phi is by far the most frequent destination and is served daily.
Getting there and the terminal
First things first: no ship leaves from the airport itself. Andaman Wave Master, one of the two operators here, gives Rassada Pier as its departure point in Phuket; the service to Koh Phi Phi starts there too. What is bookable under this entry is therefore a chain of land transfer and ferry, and the journey time quoted already includes the trip from the airport to the pier.
For your planning that means two things. First, the road leg is part of the journey time and does not belong in your buffer: the departure on your ticket refers to the ship, not to the pick-up point. Second, the same applies in reverse. If you are coming back from the islands for a flight, you arrive at Rassada Pier and still need time for the road from there. So do not put your return flight on the same evening as the last ferry.
