Phuket Town ferry port is in Thailand, on the eastern side of the island of Phuket in the Andaman Sea. From here you can reach Ko Phangan, Koh Samui and Koh Tao. Together the services run up to 18 departures a day. Journey times range from 5.5 to 7.75 hours, and the geography explains that figure: all three destinations lie in the Gulf of Thailand, on the other side of the peninsula. The port is served by Lomprayah High Speed Ferries and Raja Ferry.

Check-in

Lomprayah's conditions of carriage require travellers to report to the Lomprayah office at least 60 minutes before departure and confirm the journey there. This applies to tickets bought online as well. The agency on Phuket is in Vichit sub-district in Mueang Phuket district and is staffed daily from 6 am to 6 pm, earlier than any other station the operator runs. That also makes it the point of contact for the first departures of the day. No comparable information is available for Raja Ferry. What counts in every case is the departure time of the first leg, not the arrival on the destination island: with journey times of six hours and more, that difference decides the whole day.
