Ferries to San Sebastian de la Gomera

The ferry port of San Sebastián de La Gomera is in the capital of the Canary island of La Gomera and is its gateway to the rest of the archipelago. From here you can reach 4 destinations, among them Los Cristianos, Santa Cruz de La Palma and Playa Santiago. Together the services add up to as many as 48 departures a day. Crossings take between 30 minutes and 3.75 hours. The port is served by Balearia, Fred Olsen Express and Naviera Armas.

Getting there and the terminal

The Estación Marítima stands in the town's commercial harbour, and that harbour is right by the town: for the marina in the same basin the port authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife gives half a kilometre to the centre. You need no transport for the walk. The building was put up after the port was extended and spreads around 2,333 square metres over four levels: a cafeteria, the operators' counters and port and police control. For processing there is a pre-boarding hall for 375 people, a baggage check to the ISPS Code and a pedestrian walkway to the berths. The port's service area also includes a bus station, so you can travel on from the ferry without a hire car.

Check-in

Fred Olsen Express requires 20 minutes' lead time on the services between the islands without a vehicle and 40 minutes with one. Since every destination from San Sebastián is an inter-island service, that short lead time applies throughout. Check what your own operator states on the ticket all the same.
