The ferry port of Santa Pola lies on the Costa Blanca in the Valencian Community in Spain. From here you can reach the island of Tabarca. Ferries leave up to 8 times a day and the crossing takes around 30 minutes. The port is served by Transtabarca.
Getting there and the terminal
Passengers are handled right in the port of Santa Pola, at the blue ticket kiosks, the casetas azules, that Transtabarca runs there. If you have not booked online, you get your ticket at that counter. By car you are there from Alicante in about 20 minutes; the way to the port is signposted, and there are public car parks nearby. Buses take 45 to 60 minutes from Alicante and 30 to 45 minutes from Elche; the nearest stop is called Avenida Salamanca. From the centre of Santa Pola it is a 15 to 20 minute walk to the port.
Check-in
Transtabarca recommends being at the port 30 minutes before departure. At weekends and in high season it is advisable to reserve a place in advance rather than rely on spare capacity at the counter.
