Takamatsu Higashi Ferry Terminal, Asahi-cho 5-12-1

The ferry port of Takamatsu is in Japan. From here you can reach Kobe and Shodo Island. Together the services add up to as many as 13 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.25 and 4.75 hours. The port is served by Jumbo Ferry.

Getting there and the terminal

Make sure you go to the right terminal: Jumbo Ferry does not leave from the harbour basin next to the station but from the Takamatsu Higashi Ferry Terminal at Asahi-cho 5-12-1, around four kilometres from JR Takamatsu station. By car, take the Takamatsu Chuo exit. A free shuttle bus runs from stand 8 of the bus station at JR Takamatsu station and needs about ten minutes; its times are matched to the ships, and the ferry waits for the passengers from this bus. By taxi you are there in about 15 minutes. The terminal has 80 free parking spaces, which can be full at weekends and on public holidays.

Check-in

Ticket sales at the terminal start one hour before departure. Jumbo Ferry asks you to be at the port at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure; boarding usually begins about 15 minutes before the ship casts off.
