Getting there and the terminal
The port of Toyo belongs to the city of Saijo in Ehime prefecture on Shikoku, and the operator gives the address as Imazaike 1500-2. Without your own car the easiest way there is a taxi from JR Nyugawa station, which takes around ten minutes. More comfortable are the connecting buses timed to the ferries: those towards Imabari and towards Niihama and Saijo are free for passengers, with places allocated by numbered ticket. Only the bus to Matsuyama, which runs through to JR Matsuyama station, Matsuyama-shi station and Dogo Onsen, is chargeable and has to be reserved. The buses from Toyo set off early in the morning at around 06:20, shortly after the night ferry arrives. If you come by car and want to leave it behind, you can park free of charge in the multi-storey car park at the terminal.
