Trat airport is the starting point for the islands off the east coast of Thailand. From here you can reach Koh Kood and Koh Mak. Together the services add up to as many as 11 departures a day, and you are under way for between 1.75 and 2 hours. The services are operated by Boonsiri High Speed Ferries and Seudamgo.
Getting there and the terminal
The airport is not on the water, and that is the most important point about this connection: Boonsiri does list Trat airport as a departure and pick-up point in the booking, but the catamarans themselves leave from Laem Sok Pier south of Trat. An air-conditioned van or bus runs between the two, and you book it with the combined ticket. That is exactly the purpose of the offer: book the flight and the crossing separately and you have to organise the transfer to the pier yourself.
From Laem Sok Pier, Boonsiri calls at Ao Salad Pier on Koh Kood and Ao Nid Pier on Koh Mak. In high season the combined tickets sell out early, so booking ahead is worthwhile.
Check-in
Boonsiri requires you to be at the stated check-in point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure. Turn up later and you count as a no-show: the ticket is void and nothing is refunded.
