Town port

Terminals
Neues Faehrterminal Usuki, Itachiya 1260, Stadt Usuki (seit 17.05.2025)

The ferry port of Usuki is on the east coast of Kyushu in Japan and links the island with Shikoku. From here you can reach Yawatahama, with up to 14 sailings a day. The crossing takes around 2.25 hours. The port is served by Kansai Orange Ferry.

Getting there and the terminal

Important if you have older directions in mind: the berth has moved. Since 17 May 2025 the ferries have left from the new Usuki ferry terminal, address Itachiya 1260 in the city of Usuki. The old terminal closer to the town centre is no longer served, so old information about the walk from JR Usuki station no longer holds. Plan the last leg by the new address rather than by the place name. The number of parking spaces at the port is limited, and none of them can be reserved.

Check-in

Orange Ferry expects you at the terminal at least 30 minutes before the ship sails on the day of departure. Boarding is scheduled to begin 20 minutes before departure. If you are travelling by car, follow the marshals on board, put the handbrake on and take everything you need during the crossing with you: you cannot return to the vehicle deck en route.
