The ferry port of Rostock lies in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on the Baltic Sea, with the berth in the Überseehafen in the Peez district. From here you can reach Gedser, Trelleborg and Klaipeda. Together the services add up to as many as 32 departures a day, and crossings take between 2 and 28.25 hours. The port is served by Scandlines, Stena Line and TT-Line.

Getting there and the terminal

All lines use the same site: Fährterminal 1 in the Überseehafen, 18147 Rostock. By car the route runs via the A19. From Lübeck you come on the A1 and A20, from Berlin on the A24 as far as the Wittstock/Dosse interchange, and in each case on along the A19, leaving at the Rostock-Überseehafen exit and taking the Ost-West-Straße to the terminal. From the port site onwards, each operator is signposted separately.

Without a car the journey is longer. From the main station you take the S1 suburban train towards Warnemünde as far as Lütten Klein and then bus 45 or 49 to the Seehafen Fähre stop. Alternatively, trams 2 and 3 take you to Dierkower Kreuz, from where buses 45, 49 and 19 run to the ferry port. A terminal shuttle takes foot passengers to the ship 30 minutes before sailing. At the port there are free and chargeable short-stay spaces as well as chargeable long-stay parking.

Check-in

If you are taking the car, reckon on an hour's lead time. At Stena Line, check-in for vehicles closes 60 minutes before the scheduled departure and for foot passengers 30 minutes beforehand. Payment in the terminal and on board is by card only; the operator does not accept cash.
