Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal, Kaigan 1-12-2, Minato-ku

Tokyo ferry port is on Honshu in Japan. From here you can reach 8 destinations, among them Izu Oshima, Kozushima and Niijima. Together the services add up to as many as 25 departures a day. Crossings take between 1.75 and 10.25 hours. The port is served by Tokai Kisen.

Getting there and the terminal

Departures are from the Takeshiba Passenger Ship Terminal, Kaigan 1-12-2 in Minato ward. The shortest walk is from Takeshiba station on the Yurikamome line: the operator gives it as one minute. From the north exit of JR Hamamatsucho station you need around eight minutes, from Daimon station on the Toei subway about ten. If you come by car, leave it in one of the car parks in the neighbourhood, among them Times New Pia Takeshiba, Tokyo Port City Takeshiba and the car park of the Shiodome Building; passengers get a discount there. The advance sales counter in the terminal is staffed daily from 9.30am to 6pm.

Check-in

Tokai Kisen requires the boarding formalities to be completed no later than 15 minutes before departure, otherwise your reservation can lapse. The operator expressly advises getting it done as early as possible.
